Photo Comparisons and Progress Tracking
One of the most powerful features of My Photos is the ability to compare photos side by side. This lets you see changes that happen gradually and might not be obvious day to day. This feature requires a Cracking or Hatched subscription.
Creating a Comparison
To compare two photos:
- Go to My Photos.
- Select the Comparisons tab.
- Choose your first photo (the "before" image).
- Choose your second photo (the "after" image).
- The photos are displayed side by side for easy comparison.
For the best results, try to compare photos taken from the same angle and in similar lighting conditions.
Tracking Progress Over Time
The photo timeline gives you a chronological overview of all your photos. By scrolling through the timeline, you can see how your appearance has changed over weeks, months, and years.
Tips for effective progress tracking:
- Take photos regularly — Weekly or monthly photos give you more data points to compare.
- Use consistent conditions — Same lighting, angle, and distance from the camera makes comparisons more meaningful.
- Use categories — Track specific areas (face, body) separately to focus on the changes that matter most to you.
Why Track Visual Progress?
Physical changes during transition can be gradual, and it is easy to overlook how much has changed. Regular photos and comparisons give you a tangible record of your progress and can be a powerful source of encouragement.
