Making the Most of Gender Journey
Gender Journey adapts to your needs based on your journey type. This guide helps you understand how to get the most from the platform, whatever stage you are at.
Journey Types
When you first set up your account, you choose a journey type:
- Feminising — Tailors medication templates, health reference ranges, voice training goals, and educational content for feminising hormone therapy.
- Masculinising — Configures the platform for masculinising hormone therapy, with appropriate health metrics and content.
- Non-binary / Androgynous — Provides a flexible setup that does not assume a binary direction, with adaptable reference ranges and content.
Your journey type affects several areas of the app, including which empty-state messages you see, which default medication categories appear, and which health metric reference ranges are used. You can change your journey type at any time in your profile settings.

Tips for New Users
- Start with what matters most — You do not need to use every feature on day one. Pick the tool that addresses your most pressing need.
- Set up medications first — If you are on HRT, configuring My Medications with reminders ensures you stay on track.
- Add your providers — Having your healthcare team in one place saves time when you need to book appointments or share information.
- Explore the community — My Connect is a supportive space where you can find others on similar journeys.
- Use SAGE search — If you cannot find something, use the SAGE smart search bar to quickly find help articles and answers.
- Enable two-factor authentication — Protect your account with 2FA from the start. See the Privacy & Security section for a setup guide.
