Exporting and Deleting Your Data

Gender Journey gives you full control over your data. You can export a complete copy at any time, and you can permanently delete your account if you choose to leave.

Exporting Your Data

Under GDPR and UK data protection law, you have the right to receive a copy of all data we hold about you.

How to Export

  1. Go to Settings and select Data & Privacy.
  2. Tap Export My Data.
  3. A background job begins compiling your data. This may take a few minutes depending on how much data you have.
  4. You will receive an email notification when your export is ready.
  5. Download the export file from the link in the email or from the Data & Privacy settings page.

What Is Included

Your export contains all your data in JSON format:

  • Profile information and preferences.
  • Hormone and medication records.
  • Health metrics and blood test results.
  • Photos and their metadata.
  • Diary entries and mood data.
  • Calendar events and reminders.
  • Voice soundbites and analysis data.
  • AI conversation history with GALE.
  • My Connect posts, comments, and connections.

Download Link

The secure download link expires after 7 days. If it expires before you download, simply request a new export.

Deleting Your Account

If you wish to permanently delete your account:

  1. Go to Settings and select Data & Privacy.
  2. Tap Delete My Account.
  3. Verify your identity with your 2FA code (if 2FA is enabled).
  4. Confirm the deletion.

Grace Period

After requesting deletion, there is a 7-day grace period during which you can cancel the request by signing back in. After the grace period, your account and all associated data are permanently and irreversibly deleted.

What Gets Deleted

  • All personal data, health records, and media.
  • All posts, comments, and community content.
  • All AI conversation history.
  • All connections and messages.
  • Your encryption keys and backup codes.

This action cannot be undone after the grace period ends. We recommend exporting your data before requesting deletion.
