Choosing Your Journey Type

When you first set up Gender Journey, you will be asked to select your journey type. This choice personalises your experience across the entire platform.

Available Journey Types

Feminising

Choose this if you are taking feminising hormone therapy (oestrogen-based HRT). The app will:

  • Show feminising medication templates and common dose ranges.
  • Display female reference ranges for blood test results.
  • Surface educational content relevant to feminising transitions.
  • Tailor health tracking metrics to your journey.

Masculinising

Choose this if you are taking masculinising hormone therapy (testosterone-based HRT). The app will:

  • Show masculinising medication templates and common dose ranges.
  • Display male reference ranges for blood test results.
  • Surface educational content relevant to masculinising transitions.
  • Tailor health tracking metrics to your journey.

Non-binary / Androgynous

Choose this if you are pursuing a non-binary or androgynous approach. The app will:

  • Provide flexible medication templates that cover a wider range of options.
  • Show reference ranges that you can customise based on your goals.
  • Include content relevant to diverse transition approaches.
  • Allow you to configure tracking metrics to suit your individual needs.

How It Affects the App

Your journey type influences several features:

  • My Medications — Pre-populated medication templates match your journey type.
  • My Health — Blood test reference ranges are adjusted for your selected type.
  • Help Articles — Content recommendations are tailored to your journey.
  • GALE AI — Conversations are personalised based on your journey context.

Changing Your Journey Type

You can change your journey type at any time from your profile settings. When you switch:

  • Your existing data is preserved.
  • Reference ranges and templates will update to match the new selection.
  • Any previously entered medications and health data remain unchanged.

If you are unsure which to choose, select the one that most closely matches your current goals. You can always adjust it later.
