Setting Up Your Profile

Your profile is where you manage your personal information, privacy, and security settings. Taking a few minutes to set it up will make your Gender Journey experience much smoother.

Basic Information

Navigate to My Profile from the user menu and fill in:

  • Profile photo — Upload a photo that represents you.
  • Display name — The name shown in My Connect and communities.
  • Preferred name — How you would like to be addressed throughout the app.
  • Pronouns — Displayed on your profile and in community interactions.
  • Bio — A short description about yourself (optional).

Journey Type

Choose your journey type during onboarding or update it later in your profile:

  • Feminising — Tailors health tracking, reference ranges, and content to feminising HRT.
  • Masculinising — Tailors the experience to masculinising HRT.
  • Non-binary / Androgynous — Provides a flexible setup for non-binary approaches.

Your journey type affects which medication templates, health reference ranges, and educational content are shown to you.

Privacy Controls

You have full control over your visibility:

  • My Connect visibility — Choose whether to participate in social features or keep your account completely private.
  • Profile photo visibility — Show your photo to everyone, connections only, or keep it hidden.
  • Connection requests — Control who can send you connection requests.

Notification Preferences

Choose which notifications you want to receive:

  • Email notifications for important updates
  • Push notifications for real-time alerts
  • Medication reminders at your chosen times
  • Appointment reminders before scheduled events
  • My Connect activity notifications

Security Settings

Keep your account secure:

  • Password — Use a strong, unique password.
  • Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) — Add an extra layer of security with an authenticator app.
  • Trusted Devices — Review and manage devices that are logged into your account.
  • E2EE PIN — Set up a PIN for end-to-end encrypted messaging in My Connect.

Account Management

  • Export Data — Download all your data at any time.
  • Delete Account — Permanently remove your account and all associated data.
